Mission Statement
The Mission of the Jewish Federation of Ottawa, as the central Jewish communal organization, is to preserve and enrich Jewish life in the Ottawa area, Canada, Israel and overseas, by planning for the evolving needs of the community, raising and allocating funds for communal priorities, coordinating community action and representing the views of the community.
Federation Strategic Objectives
Objective 1. Increase the engagement and participation in the Jewish community of all age groups and varying abilities, focusing on young people.
Objective 2. Create opportunities for Jews of all abilities, incomes, backgrounds, beliefs and practices to experience an inspired Jewish community celebrating our Jewish values.
Objective 3. Continue enhanced transparency and accountability of Federation processes to strengthen inter-agency cooperation and partnerships.
Objective 4. Increase communication of Federation activities to Jewish and general community.
Objective 5. Enable and inspire community members with potential capacity, who make marginal or no contribution to the community or Annual Campaign, to increase their participation and commitment.
The Jewish Federation of Ottawa (formerly the Jewish Community Council Vaad Ha'Ir) celebrated its 75th Anniversary during 2009. The Federation is integral to the growth an stability of Ottawa's Jewish community and has come a long way in the last 75 years. Click here for more information more >>
