2011 Jewish Community Service Awards

 

Members of the Jewish community are invited to nominate individuals to receive the following community awards at the Annual General Meeting of the Federation in early June. 

 

Please submit your recommendations by March 31, 2011

 

 

 

Gilbert Greenberg Distinguished Service Award

 

The Gilbert Greenberg Distinguished Service Award is the highest tribute which the Ottawa Jewish Community can bestow on an individual for exceptional service over the course of many years.  Initiated in 1980, it bears the name of the late Past President Gilbert Greenberg, who exemplified the qualities of leadership which the award seeks to recognize each year.

Freiman Family Young Leadership Award

 

The Freiman Family Young Leadership Award was established in 1988 by the Freiman Family.  The award recognizes a member of the Ottawa Jewish community, under the age of 40, who has contributed actively to the community in the two or more years following his/her participation in the Young Leadership Development Program; or who, as a young leader, has rendered exceptional service to the Ottawa Jewish community.

The Shem Tov Community Volunteer Award

To recognize an outstanding and active volunteer with the Jewish community who, through many years of service, has contributed to the enrichment of Jewish life in Ottawa.
